The start of Eclipse Season in April 2023 is marked by a New Moon Total Solar Eclipse in Aries on April 19th.
Eclipses are always highly transformative, so you can expect some changes and shifts in your life in April. A new opportunity may arise, or someone new may enter your life. Because of the energies surrounding this month’s Eclipse, it’s very likely that we’ll begin a new chapter in some way.
Mercury will station retrograde on April 21st, 2023, making it the first retrograde planet since January.
Mercury can slow down cosmic energies and guide us to reflect. Because this is the first retrograde in a few months, we may notice the difference more clearly. Things from the past may resurface, or we may find ourselves needing to pause, especially when making decisions.
As the month comes to a close, we are still deep in the transformative Eclipse energies as we prepare for the Scorpio Lunar Eclipse on May 5th.

:: 3th April – Mercury enters Taurus
Mercury moves into Taurus, where it will retrograde later this month. Mercury’s transit from Aries to Taurus will help slow things down. Our minds may become quieter, making it easier to enter a state of stillness. Clarity is more likely to emerge from stillness than from action.
:: 5th April – Sun Conjunct Chiron
A beautiful day of healing and gratitude for the wounds that have shaped us into the people we are today. Chiron, also known as the wounded healer, is an asteroid. On this day, the Sun activates it, guiding us to shine a light on how our wounds, while painful, have guided us to this point in our lives. Chiron teaches us that even if some wounds never heal, they can still be the source of something beautiful.
:: 6th April – Libra Full Moon
Because of yesterday’s Sun-Chiron alignment, there is a lot of healing energy associated with this Full Moon. This Full Moon is likely to bring healing breakthroughs, allowing us to rediscover the strength, compassion, and awareness that our wounds can bring us. The Full Moon in Libra may also shine a light on our relationships and how we present ourselves in them. We may need to let go or release attitudes, behaviors, or patterns in our relationships that are no longer serving us. It can be difficult to recognize our unhelpful or even harmful behaviors, but this Full Moon can shed light on the situation, allowing us to dive deeper into our work. We just have to be open and willing.
:: 8th April – Mercury Enters its Pre-Retrograde Shadow
Mercury begins to slow down as it prepares for its upcoming retrograde later this month. We’ve had no planets in retrograde since January, but that’s about to change. While we are not yet feeling the full effects of the Mercury Retrograde, we may begin to see hints or glimmers of what this retrograde may have in store for us. Remember, Mercury is the God’s messenger, so whatever messages our higher self, angels, or spirit guides have for us that we haven’t yet looked at or ignored may begin to rise to the surface quietly.
:: 11th April – Sun Conjunct Jupiter in Aries
The Sun and Jupiter line up for their annual meeting! This once-a-year event infuses our lives with abundant, prosperous, and expansive energy. Jupiter magnifies things in our lives, allowing us to see more clearly and comprehend the big picture. Jupiter shines a light on the positive, so we are more likely to see silver linings or a positive resolution to whatever has been magnified for us. The day Jupiter and the Sun align is also thought to be a good time to set intentions. The energy of new beginnings will be especially strong because it falls in Aries.
:: 11th April – Venus enters Gemini
Venus now enters Gemini, helping to bring balance to our feminine side, especially when it comes to how we interact and socialize with others, after the presence of masculine, fiery Mars in Gemini since August 2022. Gemini also governs the need to honor both our human and being sides. With Venus in our midst, it may be easier to recognize and work from our more intuitive “being” side.
:: 19th/20thApril – Total New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries
The Aries Total New Moon Solar Eclipse is one of the year’s most important events! The Sun will be completely eclipsed, making it a unique and powerful sight to behold! Solar eclipses typically represent a new beginning in the evolution of our soul journey. This energy is amplified because it falls in Aries, the sign associated with new beginnings. This Eclipse will be particularly effective for setting intentions, visualizing outcomes, and seeking opportunities. Because it is in Aries, it also starts a new Eclipse cycle that we will be working with for the next 18 months. Pay attention to what themes are unfolding in your life around Eclipse time, as this may give you clues as to what is destined to unfold over the subsequent Aries Eclipses. This Eclipse contains so much “new beginning” energy that it has the potential to completely change our life path. Eclipses usually bring about some kind of change, transformation, or upheaval, but this is done to help us reach a higher level of consciousness. :: 20th April – Taurus Season Begins
The Sun exits fiery Aries and enters earthy, grounded Taurus. The Aries season moves quickly and can provide us with a burst of motivation. Things tend to slow down once the Sun enters Taurus, allowing us to take a breather. It is not always easy to be faced with pauses. Pausing can bring to light issues that aren’t working, but it can also free up time for more pleasure. Taurus Season, at its highest vibration, allows us to find pleasure in the smallest of things, aligning us with gratitude, appreciation, and abundance. Taurus Season is a great time to organize your finances on a practical level.
:: 20th April – Sun Square Pluto
Pluto will square the Sun for the first time since entering Aquarius a few weeks ago. The Sun in Taurus and Pluto in Aquarius will form a square in our cosmic skies, helping to advance the storyline of Pluto’s transition into Aquarius. Pluto spends roughly 20 years in each sign of the zodiac, so its arrival in Aquarius will be something we become accustomed to in the coming years. Pluto was last in Aquarius over 200 years ago, so this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with this energy. Pluto represents power and transformation, while Aquarius represents revolution, technology, freedom, healing, and community. All of these are areas that could be transformed on both a collective and individual level.
:: 21st April – Mercury Retrograde in Taurus
Since January, we’ve had our first retrograde planet! Mercury will be retrograde in Taurus until May 1st. Mercury Retrograde can occasionally cloud our thinking, causing us to overlook or overlook important details. As a result, it is best to proceed cautiously during Mercury Retrograde when making major or long-term decisions. However, Mercury Retrograde allows our intuition to speak to us more clearly. It can also reveal subconscious thought patterns that need to be addressed or investigated. Mercury Retrograde in Taurus may bring to light issues concerning our self-worth.
:: 24th April – Sun Conjunct North Node
For the next 18 years, the Sun will not align with the North Node in Taurus. The North Node will enter Aries later this year, ushering in a new cycle. The North Node represents our ultimate goal and where we are going. The lessons of the North Node’s time in Taurus are concentrated as it finishes its journey and aligns with the Sun for the final time. The North Node in Taurus has been directing our attention to our relationship with money, abundance, and self-worth. Have you noticed these areas being triggered in the last 1.5 years? Where have you felt compelled to alter your relationship with material possessions, or even with the material world? When it comes to giving and receiving abundance, how have you felt challenged? How has your self-esteem been tested? Have you felt compelled to defend or advocate for yourself more than usual in the last year and a half? These are all excellent questions to consider as the Sun and the North Node align. This meeting may also set in motion fated or predetermined meetings or situations in our lives.
