Recently, I found myself in a yoga class where the teacher said ‘just silence your mind, turn it off, make everything go away’. And at first it looked like an easy thing to do, but once I really got into it I realized that I couldn’t do it.
1. Making a decision isn’t easy
Having a wild imagination can be a good trait but only if you can turn it into something positive. However this is not the case with people that over analyze things.
Just imagine choosing a restaurant with such a person. So many possibilities and details to take into consideration. We can easily get lost in the decision-making process and it would only add more stress.
2. People who can distract us from overthinking are our favorite
unfortunately, not many things can interrupt our train of thoughts, but there are certain people who are able to purchase out of our comfort zone, that actually has nothing to do with Comfort because it’s nerve-wracking and full of stress.
We love these people because in the back of our heads we know that the things they practically make us do can have a positive effect on us, even though we are so reluctant to participate.
3. Don’t be surprised if we are the life of the party
This definitely doesn’t happen often, but it’s not something that should surprise you. We have such a colorful personality that really gets to shine if the experience is positive and stimulating.
4. Others think we are insecure and controlling
Yes this can be true sometimes. It’s not like we think you are incompetent or that we have to pull every string and control every aspect of ours or your life. This sometimes can be a reason to get out priorities mixed up but as long as you remind us of what’s important, we we’ll get back on the right track.
5. We take everything too seriously
Unfortunately when someone takes even the smallest things very seriously is it usually a sign of an over-thinker. Sometimes we even look like we don’t have a sense of humor because even a smallest joke can provoke a stormy reaction.
Remind us to loosen up. Show others that friends joke about things and eat healthy to do it because being serious about everything in life is not the solution. It just adds more stress to out already frantic thoughts.
