Just before we come to earth, our soul family asks us just one simple question: “What is it you would like to learn this lifetime?” This is the moment when by answering this question we form our soul contracts.
Our soul has already been through this process before and it knows that if we want to learn to be patience, Zen Masters won’t be able to teach us. What we actually need are brothers and sisters who will push us to the limits and drive us crazy.
If love is what we want to learn, universe will shower us with hate.
If we choose self-confidence, the system will send someone to step on us over and over again.
That being said, no matter what lesson we choose to learn in this lifetime, we will be sent the complete opposite.
It is within this very principle that all soul contracts are based, for it is only in being stepped on that we have no choice but to learn to stand up for ourselves.
Self development is almost always a painful process that requires us to be scrubbed. There are two kinds of pain, learning pain and abusive pain. While the former is fundamental to our growth as human beings, the latter on barely serves any purpose.
Other than beginner’s luck, which (in my opinion) is the universes way of showing us that we can achieve a high level of success, with of course, practice; the first step to growth is being knocked off balance.
We get removed from center by ‘x’ amount which is directly proportionate to how much we have chosen to learn. It is through learning and growth that we come back to our center with the tools that were required to bring ourselves home.
The other aspect of gaining our balance back is expressed directly as growth.
Funny how our growth is exactly what tickles universe’s funny bone. One of the most frustrating truths we will come to realize is that as soon as we learn a lesson, the system will express its infinite love by sending us another one.
Congratulations! Your reward is… another curve ball.’ Each time we show the universe that we can take the heat, life becomes a little hotter! It does sting and burn, but it’s one hell of a beautiful process as it helps us become aware of our own strengths and growth.
However, the universe will never send us anything we are not ready or can’t take. We are always served what we deserve.
The main thing to remember here (going full circle) is that it is our friends who come to teach us these lessons. It is our soul friends who (by our consent) hurt us, our friends who betray us and our friends who give us our opportunities to learn.
In order for these experiences to seem real, we naturally forget that they are our friends when we cross over the river of forgetfulness (birth).
If you’d rather be happy than right, just pretend that they love you, it will definitely change your perspective!
