What’s The Difference Between Your Soulmate & Forever Love?

Although many people connect the term “forever love” with the concept of a soulmate and use these terms interchangeably, they are actually two different things.

Romantic movies and books taught us that our soulmate should be someone who is our love. But, what nobody told us is what happens after happily ever after. What’s the difference between your soulmate and forever love?

When they tell you to look for your soulmate, everyone refers to love and nobody tells you to find someone truly compatible to your personality and character. A soulmate is your other half and when you find your soulmate, you finally feel complete, like you found the part of you that was missing all along.

When you meet your soulmate, you think of them as the piece of the puzzle which was always missing. Even when you are not physically together, you feel spiritually connected. You can’t explain it, but it’s like you have a special intuition for this person, and you always know what they are thinking or feeling.

A soulmate is often someone who reflects your personality and we are mirrored in them. Of course, you can’t love everything about someone, but the things you can’t stand about your soulmate are usually the things we are not aware about ourselves or are the things we hate in our personality.

When you find your soulmate, they make you feel like you are on the top of the world. You feel more powerful, stronger, and braver than ever. You think that you could do anything you set your mind to and you feel invincible.

They give you the strength you never thought you could possess. Every emotion you feel, you feel it intensely and with your entire being. Simply put, a soulmate is someone whose soul matches yours. They are the people who awaken you in a special way and the people you feel deeply connected to, like you have known them for your entire life.

Your romantic relationship is always intense and it often moves from extreme highs to extreme lows. But, despite the fact that this is someone who makes us more alive than anyone else, unfortunately, these relationships are usually not meant to last, exactly because they are so intense and they drain us emotionally. Although we all think we want to be with the opposite sex version of ourselves, it is definitely far from the truth.

On the other side, our forever love is usually someone of totally opposite qualities to our soulmate. It is someone who is marriage material and someone you want to spend your life with. Your forever love will be your life companion and your partner in every sense of that word.

They are your best friend, your family, and someone who you feel connected on different ways than only through your souls. It is someone who you love, but also share a mutual respect, trust, and support. Your forever love calms you and brings the best of you. It is the person you share common values and life views with. It is someone who is always there for you, through good and bad days. It is someone who always understands you and believes in you.

You feel safe and secure with this person, because you know they will always have your back. Your relationship with your life partner is not as extreme and intense as the one with your soulmate, but that is exactly what makes it so special and worth keeping.

You feel emotionally stable when you are with them because your relationship is based not only on passion and love, but also on logical reasoning. And what is most important, you know that this person will never hurt you in any way.

Although it is difficult to achieve, the best possible outcome is finding both your soulmate and your forever love in one person. But, even if that doesn’t happen, bear in mind that we need different types of love at different times of our lives.

When we are younger, we strive for that intense, passionate love we’ve seen on the movies and our soulmate is the one who fulfills us. But, as we grow older and change emotionally and spiritually, we are searching for different things and different people—we are searching for a different kind of love, a forever love.
