We’ve made it, folks; the final new moon of the year 2023 is inching closer and closer.
Despite the fact that there are still a great deal of astrological events that need to be resolved before we can celebrate the new year (Mercury is currently in retrograde, cough, cough), this luminary is at least providing us with some positive energy. On the 12th/13th of December, the new moon in the sign of Sagittarius will rise into the sky, bringing with it positive energies that will undoubtedly bring our year of upheaval to a satisfying conclusion. At the very least, we are hoping so.
Optimism, curiosity, and deep contemplation are hallmarks of the Sagittarius personality. The new moon in Sagittarius accentuates these traits, making the yearning for development, expansion, and discovery all the more pronounced. It motivates people to go after their aspirations, establish objectives, and seek out novel experiences. The best way to make the most of this lunar phase is to set intentions, which can help us see our goals, bring them to fruition, and keep them close at hand.
A new moon in Sagittarius encourages us to step outside of our comfort zones and think big, about what our lives could be like if everything worked out the way we want it to.
But this new moon in Sagittarius has two sides: one that will make us ready to start something new, and another that will make it hard for us to do so. With the new moon in Sagittarius so close to Mars, it’s time to be fearless and do what you want. Depending on your personal philosophy and beliefs, you may be cosmically obligated to establish firmer boundaries with other people at this time. Since Sagittarius is known to be a dogmatic sign, it’s not surprising that more people are taking the lead in presenting their personal views and opinions as the final authority. After all, the holidays wouldn’t be complete without an occasional playful argument.
Mercury, the planet of communication, will begin its retrograde motion in Capricorn the day after the new moon, as we previously mentioned. Whatever plans, endeavors, or connections you had in mind will be derailed by this. There will be an increased need to inwardly focus, pause, and contemplate before bursting into action because Jupiter, the planet linked with Sagittarius and ruler of this moon, will also be retrograde.
This new moon is an ideal opportunity to delve deeply into 2023 due to the planetary retrogrades. In the first week of 2024, we will be able to set new goals with the help of this data.
Even though these two planetary retrogrades are going to be a bit of a pain, they will finally be ending on January 1 and December 30, respectively. Those two planets will start to move quickly in the sky in the new year, so whatever we plan or dream up under this new moon will gain momentum soon after.
A square between the new moon in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces suggests that we may experience mixed emotions regarding the best way to move forward. When the Nodes of Destiny in Aries and Libra are in motion, it might feel like we’re stuck in a rut. But fate still wants us to stand back and assess the gravity of our goals.
Please, because of this square, bear with us. “Not all of the necessary details will be sent to you immediately. The arrival of Capricorn season on December 22 could bring the answers we’re seeking.
At least it’s not dull—even though the final new moon of the year has a hint of chaotic energy.
Why don’t we make 2023 our most memorable year yet?
