“I do my best to never get emotional in these moments,” the ‘Moana 2’ actor shared about the heartfelt experience.
Dwayne Johnson experienced a touching and deeply emotional moment with his two youngest daughters during a truly memorable trip to Hawaii.
On Sunday, November 24, the 52-year-old actor shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, showcasing a recent encounter with the nonprofit organization Make-A-Wish, dedicated to granting wishes for children facing critical illnesses.
Johnson made a heartfelt visit to five beneficiaries of the charity, bringing along his daughters, Jasmine, 8, and Tiana, 6, whom he shares with his wife, Lauren Hashian.
“I do my best to never get emotional in these moments, but I do get very emo watching this stuff back,” he captioned the video.
The Moana star expressed that it was a true “honor” to “grant wishes” for the nonprofit. He remarked that it was “extra special” that his “two little tornadoes” wished to accompany him.
Johnson announced that he organized transportation for the five children and their families to join him at the Moana 2 world premiere in Hawaii on Thursday, November 21.
“What a beautiful day meeting these kids. Their strength and resilience inspire EVERYONE around them—including me,” the actor remarked. “To all their moms, dads, and siblings who I met—I feel it in every hug and handshake. I know. Stay strong.”
He concluded his heartfelt post with a nod to his “incredible partners” at Make-A-Wish, expressing that these moments are the “highlight of fame.”
The video features Johnson, Jasmine, and Tiana as they connect with several Make-A-Wish families, listening to their heartfelt stories. The children present the former wrestler with several thoughtful gifts, including a charming handmade clay necklace that resembles the fish hook of his Moana character, Maui.
Johnson also has a daughter, Simone, who is 23 years old, with his former wife, Dany Garcia.
At the Hawaii premiere of the movie in Oahu, the actor was accompanied by his wife and their three daughters. He struck a pose on the red carpet alongside the four and his mother, Ata.
The entire crew donned vibrant floral leis around their necks as they made their way down the carpet. The two younger girls donned vibrant, matching tie-dye dresses in shades of orange, pink, and yellow, while the eldest showcased her style in a flowing floral dress complemented by a chic pendant choker.
Johnson stepped onto the carpet in a striking light blue suit, while his wife dazzled in an elegant dark green dress, and his mom showcased a bold black and orange patterned ensemble.
The sequel brings back the beloved titular character and Maui for an exhilarating new ocean adventure, three years after their last journey. “After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced,” according to the film’s synopsis.
Get ready! Moana 2 hits theaters on Wednesday, November 27.
