“Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.”-Paulo Coelho
In our times, life is synonymous to a rat race where people are running without knowing their destination. They want it all, a family, a dream, success, wealth, fame… everything under the sun, but they don’t take a minute to ponder over their innate desires which guide their decisions in life.
Social media can make you believe you need something, when in fact, you barely want it. It is important for you to be in touch with Yourself and choose the right path, the path which leads to contentment.
Take these five questions as pointers which will help you introspect. As Rumi said, the universe is within you, and there is more wisdom in the world within than the world without.
These questions will invoke your “deeper voice,” which will show you your strength, weakness, wishes, and be your guide. You can do it anytime you want, while taking a shower in the morning or while journaling at night, the important thing is to do it frequently so that you don’t lose the connection you share with your soul.
1. What Are You Doing?
Sometimes you go through life without much thought as things keep piling one on top of the other. Take a deep breath. Ask yourself what are you doing at that moment and if it is in sync with the bigger goal that you have, is your work or choices making you content or increasingly distressed?
2. What Are You Feeling?
What do I feel on a regular basis? Is that feeling pleasant? Can it be changed? Are you feeling drained or do you find yourself bubbling with energy? You should evaluate your emotions.
3. What Do You Want?
“Dreaming isn’t as simple as it seems. On the contrary, it can be quite dangerous. When we dream, we put powerful engines in motion and can no longer hide the true meaning of our life from ourselves. When we dream, we also make a choice of what price to pay.”–Paulo Coelho
You need to ask yourself what you want to achieve and work towards it.
4. What Are You Neglecting?
“Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dream.”– Paulo Coelho
There are things we ignore because we are afraid it’ll disrupt our lives, it will, but the destination will be infinitely better.
5. What Are You Expecting?
Everyone has a certain dream and it is important to see if it is feasible. Obviously dreams are difficult to achieve but it shouldn’t be unattainable. Plan and execute accordingly.
