At the end of your 50s, you will experience your second Saturn return.

Saturn and its lesson can appear cruel at times, but in the end, it is a gift — a diamond hidden in our natal chart that is revealed after our first Saturn return. It usually takes 27-30 years for Saturn to return to our natal birth position. This is referred to as our second Saturn return if Saturn does it again.

While our first encounter with Saturn can be overwhelming, bitter, and perplexing, the second encounter will be much more manageable. Why? Because Saturn is also known as ‘Father Time,’ and assuming we have applied the lessons from our first return, the second can work in our favor because Saturn rewards those who have already gone through the transition and worked hard to evolve and become better versions of themselves.

What to expect during your second Saturn return

• Clarity & maturity

During their first rodeo, Saturn humbles everyone. However, once the Saturnian lessons have been completed, the native will experience a breakthrough and period of clarity. During our first visit, we create tools and new lesson plans. However, during the second return, the veterans will know how to play the game and make the necessary moves to advance. Saturn wants everyone to know how to deal with life’s curveballs, so the second return is usually when the natives feel like they can handle the pressure much more easily than the first time.

• Increased confidence

We can be insecure about who we are, how we look, and how others perceive us when we are young. However, after our first Saturn return, we may no longer care what others think of us. We will be more confident in our self-expression and identity, which will be reflected in how we dress, transform our appearance, and even our mannerisms. The first Saturn return signifies the beginning of adulthood. We can proudly show others who we are by the second return. Our true selves shine through.

• Freedom

People usually prepare for retirement during the second Saturn return. As a result, there is a new level of freedom in how we control our time because we can create and run our schedules however we want. The natives may feel liberated during this period because they can do whatever they want without feeling the anxiety of the first return, when we are all still adjusting to adulthood.

• Wisdom & optimism

Having fewer worries can sometimes lead to a more optimistic outlook, which contrasts with the nerve-racking first Saturn Return. Not to say that life will be without challenges, but the native is more willing to face them with optimism and determination. A second Saturn return is also beautiful because it allows the native to share their knowledge with others. They are the ones who have mastered and learned Saturn; they can teach their children, friends, or family members how to overcome the challenges that life throws at us.

• Forgiveness & self-love

In our 20s and 30s, we can be harsh on ourselves, especially if we do not achieve our goals. However, reaching our second Saturn return will allow us to be more gracious and understanding to ourselves. We’re more patient with ourselves, and hopefully kinder to ourselves. Saturn will teach us many hard lessons, but they will help us become more empowered and determined to succeed. The second Saturn return reflects how much a person has endured, fought for, and created in the previous 30 years. It is a time for natives to praise and honor themselves for all of their accomplishments.

How to get through (and rock) your second Saturn return

Do your literal and metaphorical homework.

Saturn is in the details of whatever you’re working on right now. Commit to the small, preparatory steps, not just the big statements.

Accept responsibility.

We all make mistakes from time to time; it’s part of being human. The most important aspect is accepting responsibility. When you make a mistake, be honest with yourself. Learn everything you can from them. Consider each blunder to be a teacher.

Hold yourself and others accountable.

The dog that used to eat your homework has vanished. Make an appearance for yourself. Every single day. Believe that each step is preparing you for something wonderful.

Make a commitment to yourself.

Make a commitment to your dreams. Make a commitment to your vision. Make a commitment to your values. Maintain your integrity. Commit to your objectives. Make a list of your non-negotiables and tape it to the mirror in your bathroom.

Be merciful to yourself at all times.

Saturn returns, like all rites of passage, can be difficult. Practice self-forgiveness right away. Remember that in real life, things don’t always go as planned. It’s all part of the process.

The difference between the 3 Saturn returns?

Your first Saturn return, which occurs between the ages of 27 and 30, marks the beginning of your adulthood. This is the time to define yourself for yourself. Not for you or your family. Not for the sake of society. Not for anyone else’s fantasy of you.

The second Saturn return occurs at the end of our 50s, encouraging you to take on more mentoring responsibilities. This is the time to turn to those who are experiencing their first Saturn return and offer the wisdom you have gained since then as a guidepost. It is the season of transitioning into eldership, which our society desperately needs to cultivate an appreciation for.

The third Saturn return, which occurs at the end of our 80s, gathers the wisdom of our lives and distills it into seeds that will be passed down to future generations.
