Let’s get right down to business: Mercury has now entered its final retrograde phase of the year 2023.
We have made it through two of these chaotic astrological occurrences so far this year, and the third and final one will put us to the test and frustrate us (as is typical for Mercury retrogrades). We will be beginning the new year on, well, not the wrong foot, but a pretty unstable one, as this particular backwards dance will begin on December 13 in Capricorn, move to Sagittarius on December 23, and turn direct on January 1 2024. This means that we will be performing this dance backwards.
The fact that Mercury is retrograde in Capricorn at the end of the year feels fortunate, if retrogrades can ever be considered so. We actually started the year with one. The precise spot in the sky where the retrograde from the beginning of the year ended on January 18 will be the starting point for the retrograde on December 13. This means that in order to resolve unresolved matters, we are resuming a direct storyline from that period of our lives. Consider your hopes and dreams from the month of January of last year. Do you have aspirations? Are you afraid? Now that you’re better prepared, they’ll all resurface in your life.
Mercury retrograde in Capricorn encourages introspection about our foundations, our connections to the past, and the mark we hope to make on the world. We’re having more talks about setting boundaries and reevaluating long-term objectives.
The first part of the retrograde will be characterized by Capricorn’s strong emphasis on work and finances. Our overall 2024 strategies will likely be asked to be redone, revised, and rewritten by upper management. This is actually a blessing in disguise, so try not to freak out or be too hard on yourself. Our current edits will bear fruit in the spring of 2024 since Mercury enters retrograde while forming a trine with Jupiter (who exits retrograde on December 30). At this point in the retrograde, things are looking up the most.
Soak up the planetary energy for a while, since the Planet of Communication won’t leave its post-retrograde zone until January 20, 2024. As Mercury transits from Capricorn to Sagittarius, anything that isn’t to our liking will be brought to light. What we’re discovering includes the significance of focusing on what makes us happy. Something positive can come out of this; just be ready to let go of whatever isn’t helping you anymore. We may also postpone our New Year’s resolutions until we establish our true goals for the coming year.
When Mercury moves out of Capricorn and into Sagittarius, the fun part of its retrograde motion starts. Remember what was happening to you in November and December of 2018 since Mercury hasn’t been in Sagittarius since then: Can you tell me where you felt the most discomfort? Where did you encounter obstacles or setbacks in your life? Subjects and themes that are similar to this one might be revised. There will be more misunderstandings and miscommunications than normal because Mercury isn’t having a good time in Sag.
It is crucial to keep negative thoughts at bay during these days so that you don’t get stuck in a never-ending loop of negative thinking. No matter if your revisions are about your career, your love life, or your lifestyle in general, try to take a step back and look at the larger picture.
If you are well-prepared and pay close attention, you can lessen the impact of this Mercury retrograde and its potential difficulties. This is a period that promotes self-reflection, so take it easy, rethink, and move cautiously.
If you are kind to yourself and take things slowly, the transition into the new year ought to go off without a hitch without any complications.
