A New Moon in the sign of Scorpio will take place on November 18th, 2017.
New Moons are a door opening from the Universe. YOU must lay seeds in this area of life AFTER it appears, depending on your sign (and rising sign) to receive the greatest change. The power of this New Moon lasts 9-12 days. The actions you take from November 18th – November 30th will likely come to fruition by April 30th, 2018 (plus or minus four days) depending on the success of your initial plans.
WHAT IS AN INTENTION/SEED?
The Universe is made up of energy and it responds to movement. You push and pull things into your life depending on your actions and vibration. For instance, if you’re looking for a new job or career success, working on your resume, applying to new jobs, or taking a course to expand your certifications are ACTIONS that function as seeds to express your intention to the Universe. If you’re looking for love or a partner, socializing, asking your friends to set you up with potential dates, or reaching out to new/old flames causes reverberations out into the Universe. You needn’t “get that big job” or “find the true love” right away, it is merely showing the Universe that your spirit is open to that.
INTENTIONS/SEEDS DURING A NEW MOON:
If a New Moon takes place in an area of your chart that is focused on love, it isn’t the best time to lay seeds for work. A different New Moon another time in the year would be best for that. That is why we study astrology – we look for the cycles that occur to see when the Universe is opening doors to us.
ZODIAC HOUSES: WHAT THEY MEAN FOR YOU.
There are 12 signs in the zodiac, 12 New Moons in a year, 12 Full Moons in a year, and 12 houses in a horoscope. Each person’s natal chart is split into 12 pieces of a pie, each one ruling a different area of life. Whenever a New/Full Moon falls inside one of them or a planet moves through one of these 12 “zones,” your attention is drawn to this area of life or you will receive news regarding it.
FINDING OUT YOUR HOUSES:
For beginners, the 1st House is YOUR SIGN. Aries’s 1st House is Aries, Taurus’s 1st House is Taurus, Gemini’s 1st House is Gemini, and on and on. “Your sign” is your 1stHouse. The 2nd House is the sign that directly falls after yours. For instance, Cancer’s 2nd House is Leo, Leo’s 2nd House is Virgo, Virgo’s 2nd House is Libra, and on and on. This goes for every house/sign following yours until you reach 12, which is the sign that exists before your sign. For instance, Libra’s 12th House is Virgo, Scorpio’s 12th House is Libra, Sagittarius’s 12th House is Scorpio, Capricorn’s 12thHouse is Sagittarius, Aquarius’s 12th House is Sagittarius, and Pisces’s 12th House is Aquarius.
WHAT DO THE HOUSES RULE?
For beginners, I’ll make it very general.
- 1st House = the self, the ego, your image. YOU.
- 2nd House = possessions, income, money.
- 3rd House = communications, siblings, academics.
- 4th House = family, home, real estate.
- 5th House = love, creativity, children, passion.
- 6th House = work, fitness, health.
- 7th House = partnerships, marriage.
- 8th House = unions, wealth, debts.
- 9th House = travel, expansion, higher learning, spirituality.
- 10th House = career, public recognition.
- 11th House = friendships, long-term goals.
- 12th House = healing, hidden things, internal aspects.
For fun, draw a circle and split it into 12 pieces of a pie. Then on the horizontal line where “west” would be on a compass, write 1. Then on the next line below it, write 2. Continue going down and around and up the circle until you reach 12. Then at 1, write your zodiac sign. Then write the corresponding zodiac signs as they follow yours in the zodiac year (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces) and you have a very basic view of your SOLAR CHART. Now you’ll know when your attention will be drawn to certain areas of life! For instance, anytime your 5th House is lit up by a New/Full Moon or a planet is going through it, expect to be indulging in love, creativity, and fun. But if your 10th House has a New/Full Moon or a planet moving through that sign, expect your attention to be all about career!
ARIES
Anything to do with deep union is in focus. Loans. Joint bank accounts and businesses. Combined projects and ownership. Sexuality, especially when it is not in balance. Secrets. Things that are not equal. This will be a time where you can forge stronger unions and start new ones. Money is likely to be in focus for many of you. The biggest thing you’ll be thinking about is: what do you owe me? What do I owe you? Make sure that you open yourself to deeper connections and to giving and receiving in more fulfilling ways. However, do not take on more “debt” than you can give back – remember, balance in partnerships, however you establish them, is key.
TAURUS
Partnerships. Business. Marriage. “Becoming official.” Long-term friendships. Unions. You can be blessed with all. This is a good time to assess what you want in a serious partner and what you do not. Make a list. If you have a partner (in business or love), use this time to talk about taking your union to the next level and how you can compromise and work better together. If it’s not going to work, it may be time to let that relationship go. You were greatly tested in all matters of partnership from 2012-2015, and many Taurus’s relationships were shattered and it was hard to rebuild trust and find a kindred spirit once again. For those of you that remained with a partner, things may have been rocky, but you forged through together. That time of darkness has fully passed, though, as Jupiter is not only blessing you in this area of life until November 2018, but this New Moon is the Universe saying YES to you. Let go of the past because the future is here. Use this time to find out where you stand with your partners and if you do not have one, you may be drawn to one now. If you have Taurus Rising 25 degrees (+/- 5 degrees) or a birthday that falls 3 days before/after May 18th, this New Moon blesses you most of all.
GEMINI
Work, work, work, work. It’s time to buckle down and get everything moving in motion. Use this time to amplify your work life. Ask for more projects from employers. If you’re self-employed, advertise and get your name out there. Ask for referrals. If you work for a business, make sure you’re being seen by your superiors. You’ll also be focusing on your fitness and daily rhythm. How do you balance your work-life? Anything to do with fitness/health is also in focus: wanna lose weight? Kick that bad habit? Quit smoking? Get on a plan. Meet a doctor. Stop waiting. Do it now. If you want to get a new job, this would be a time to be rocking out those resumes. Use this time well. Grind. It’ll pay off.
CANCER
Love, romance, fun, adventure, and creativity shine for you now. You’ll be more attractive, so if you’re single, get your face out there! Meet people. It’s better to meet people through friends or socially rather than apps. Plan some events. Some of you may be moving and changing up your lifestyle. Embrace every ounce of change that is coming. You’re worth it. Also, there may be a focus on art projects and you may feel more inspired than any times past. Embrace that muse. It was meant for you. If you have children, they may be taking focus for you. This is a door from the Universe opening that will last until November 2018 – start laying those seeds and wake up to tell the world your heart is open once again.
LEO
The foundation of your life can change. The way you love yourself, self-love, as well as everything to do with family, home, your “chosen home/family,” Mother/Father relationships, and anything to do with domestic matters will be apparent now. Jump on real estate if you can. Update your living space. Buy some new furniture, give a wall a fresh coat of paint, look for that perfect cooking set for you to entertain with. Being domestic is going to go well for you, now, so invite friends over or use this time to enjoy your home. Also, you’re going to be considering what truly makes you happy and if you have the things in your life you need, particularly self-respect and self-love. Look in the mirror and ask yourself: “Do I like myself? What do I truly need? What makes me happy? Am I on a path that is fulfilling emotionally?” Answer these questions truthfully.
VIRGO
Get ready to expand all areas of communication. Focus on advertising, social media, grow your presence online or with people, and anything ruled by communication will flourish. Meet new people. Reach out to new contacts. Ask others for new contacts. Submit a resume. If you want a job in any of these areas listed, get it, because you can. Writing. Agencies. Contracts. It’s all lighting up. The time is now. Lay the seeds. Both Venus and Mars will be in this area of your life soon, so you will see a lot of focus on this over the coming months.
LIBRA
Whether or not we want to love money, money is how we survive. Luckily for you, money seems to be about to come in – or ways to generate more of it. Increase your income by looking for better jobs or by asking for a raise. Show you’re qualified. Update that resume. Also focus on the things you “own,” especially your possessions. People are not possessions, but if you look at people in that way, make sure they’re yours, dependent on you, and you will lock that down. What do you own? Make sure it’s yours to stay — because it can be. If you’re looking to buy things, you’re likely to have luck.
SCORPIO
This New Moon is ALL ABOUT YOU, dear Scorpio, and that means you are in the spotlight. Not only did the powerful planet of good fortune and miracles – Jupiter – move into your sign last month to stay for over a year, but this New Moon unlocks the Universe’s gifts in full, so open your heart and your arms. Use this time to evaluate who you are, what you want, and where you are going. You can utilize the power of this New Moon in any way you’d like, but it is the only New Moon to fall in your sign until next year (and by then, Jupiter will be almost done with it’s transit through your sign). Use this time to analyze how you want to shine – and then go for it! Put yourself out there. Get a fresh new haircut, wardrobe, or style. Start that project that’s been on the backburner that you’ve always wanted to pursue. Become the person you were meant to be. Create the steps. Make it possible. This can cover any area of life. However, you’re about to heat up a lot of social fun, and you’re likely to find these dreams align with new people you meet, so say YES to your social engagements and watch your coming year light up with stronger friendships and ferocity. Saturn, the planet of responsibility, hardship, and maturation will be entering your sign for three years by the end of this year. This is a long trend, so do everything in your power to rise now before things become heavier (for better and for worse).
