There are quite a few reasons why our Sacral chakra is so important for us.
First of all, it is the seat of emotions, creativity and motivation in our body. Second of all, our life force, our energy flows through it. The energy for many organs of our body come from the sacral chakra; your core, stomach, pancreas, digestive system, sex organs just to name a few.
When the energy of the sacral chakra is not in harmony, it can cause a lot of problems such as:
- Problems with digestion
- Mental blocks
- Problems with libido
- Uncontrollable emotions
These are only a few examples of all that can go wrong. Following are a few tips which can help you in recharging and calming your sacral chakra.
1. Using the power of colors
The Sacral Chakra is influenced by Orange. So either incorporating it in your wardrobe, or using crystals which have an orange hue can be a good start. Eating oranges and pumpkins etc can also promote healing. Try meditating and visualize that you are at the center of orange light and it is slowly working away at your chakra, purifying and rejuvenating it.
2. Using ginger tea and peppermint
Because of its physical location, any disturbance in the sacral chakra is bound to have its effect on the stomach. Ginger tea and peppermint can help you deal with the distress caused in your stomach. It is a good idea to visualize how exactly the warmth of the tea seeps through you and helps you relax.
3. Breathing into your belly
Your Sacral Chakra is closely associated with fire. Its fore might be dwindling because of the stress it might be experiencing. So breathe deep into your belly, and imagine as if you are kindling a fire deep within yourself.
4. Using essential oils and using heat
The main aim is to rekindle the fire in your sacral chakra through outside warmth. You could either apply heat directly in the form of a compressor or a hot towel. Or you can also generate some by rubbing essential oils (such as sage, orange, sandalwood etc) on your belly. Whichever method you chose, you will find that the heat help you relax and clears the knots in your belly.
5. Recitation of Mantras
As mentioned before the sacral chakra is the place from where you draw your power. You can stimulate it by repeating empowering mantras. They can be something as simple as saying ‘I have what it takes’ repeatedly to yourself. Don’t worry if you think that you don’t mean it. You just have to believe that you CAN make it true eventually.
6. Undertaking something innovative
Another reason why your sacral chakra feels blocked is because your creative energies haven’t found an outlet lately. Try undertaking a project which will use your creativity and provide a sort of way out for all that bunched up energy. Involve the color orange in your project to stimulate the energy.
You can try one or more of these exercises, alone or in combination with each other. The main idea is to make sure that the energy is flowing through your sacral chakra and not getting blocked.
