Now that we are about to change our calendar from September to October, we might as well know something interesting about the upcoming month.
October is considered to be the most powerful spiritual month of the year. This is the time when we delve deep into our inner self spiritually. We might also feel haunted sometimes during this month.
If we notice deep, we feel the presence of something around us. Nonetheless, the aura is filled up with energy that makes us feel more alive. It is said that in this month, the spirits roam around us in a more prevalent manner than the other eleven months we have.
Our lives depend on the dimensions that we live in. During October, it is believed that the dimension in which we reside meets with the one in which spirits are contained. The thin line of control between these two dimensions are blurred in this month.
Thus we mark this time to honor the dead and deceased. We honor our loved ones who left us timely or untimely. In this commemoration, we just do not have our family members but our pets too.
The period that has been attributed to the blurring of the thin veil between the two worlds spans from around October 8th to November 11th of each year. You can light a candle during this time period, and remember the quality time you spent with your loved ones and their cherished memories as they remain no longer with you in the physical world.
You can arrange a special spot like an altar for them who are no more, put some candles, their pictures, their favorite flowers, and incense stick. Light a candle every day at the altar with the incense stick, and say whatever you want to convey to the deceased ones.
It is believed that they hear you and feel happy that you still remember them. In other cultures too, October is the month of paying homage to the dead ones. For example, in Hinduism, they have “pind-daan“, i.e. the ritual of the donation of food and clothes for their deceased loved ones during this month.
You might feel their presence if you follow these steps in the month of October.
Furthermore, this is the month of the autumn season where we witness the shedding of leaves all around. This shedding can be seen metaphorically and used as a learning lesson for our life, where you decide to shed negative energy and feelings from yourself and prepare a space for the good and positive aspects in our life, as a sign of renewal. Here, the blessings from the spirits can be enormously useful.
Also, Halloween is another aspect of this month. Now that the festival is all about spooky jokes and fun where the people celebrate all types of ghosts or spirits carelessly, we should be aware of the negative spirits we might invite in.
If you have a creepy and horror factor as the theme of your party, it might be possible that you are inviting the same kinds of spirits. Alternatively, if you have cheerful and playful spirits as your theme then you welcome the same kind.
There are few steps you can take to avoid the negativity, if present in the Halloween party such as laying low during the Halloween fever, meditating during the time you are anxious, doing historical themes ghost tours rather than the horror ones, etc.
There are other holidays related to spirits in different countries and cultures where they take enough precautions to assure that nothing goes wrong, and only the positive and light-hearted spirits of their loved ones come forward.
