The Solstice, which occurs on June 21st, is a time when the Sun ‘stands still’ and the seasons change.

The Solstice also marks the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, when we are encouraged to rejoice in the light, and the shortest day of the year in the Southern Hemisphere, when we enter the dark night of the soul.

The Solstice, regardless of where you live, is a highly sensitive day when we can feel more in tune with the energies around us.

It is also believed that on the Solstice, the veil between this world and higher dimensions is the thinnest, allowing us to more easily access galactic energies and angelic realms.

The June Solstice also marks the Sun’s entry into Cancer, the watery, nurturing, and sensitive sign.

We also have this lineup of sacred Goddess energy in the Sun-charged zodiac of Leo in 2023, around the time of the Solstice, with the Moon, Venus, and Black Moon Lilith all within a few degrees of each other. This alignment of Goddess energy is also colliding with Mars, which is also in Leo.

All of this powerful feminine energy, combined with Mars, creates a force field that strengthens our intuition and emotional intelligence. This energy can also be very nourishing, encouraging us to stand up for ourselves, honor our emotions, and remain confident and strong in who we are.

Forecasts and rituals for both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres are provided below.

Best wishes for the Solstice!

The Celebration of Light- Northern Hemisphere

Summer, the season of light, begins with the June Solstice! This is the time to put yourself out there, to shed your fears, and to let your light shine!

There will be no more holding yourself back or playing small. The time has come for you to take a step forward and celebrate the work you’ve done this year.

Life isn’t always sunny, but the longest day of the year serves as a reminder that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Even if things appear to be dark, this is only a temporary state. No matter how dark or deep the tragedy, there is always a way to find the light again.

The light will shine once more, reminding us of life’s beauty and bounty.

We can feel a ray of clarity move through our lives when the Sun shines brightly. We understand what is important and where we want to spend our time.

What motivates and drives us can be reviewed at this time, as we are being guided to align our motivations with our highest truth and the calling of our soul under the summer Cancer Sun.

We are being directed at this time to consider what fuels our Spirit and recharges our Soul. And the Universe is also providing us with opportunities to do so by harnessing the power of the Sun.

Spend time outside in nature as the Sun shines brightly on the longest day. Swim in her oceans, bathe in her forests, hike through her wildflowers, and connect with the creative energy.

Feel the warmth of the Sun illuminating your being and know that, like all of nature, the Sun’s rays have the power to transform, nourish, and inspire creation.

Celebrating the Light Ritual

Go outside and sit somewhere comfortable and shady for your ritual. Bring along a journal and a pen.

As you sit, become aware of everything around you. Identify five things that stand out to you if it helps. Just take a moment to reflect on each of these events.

Once you’ve allowed this presence in, grab a pen and paper and start drawing or writing. Allow yourself to be creative without censoring or limiting yourself.

Close your eyes, place your hand on your heart, and set an intention for yourself, others, the planet, and the Universe once you feel your creative juices have settled.

The celebration of the light is an opportunity to celebrate who you are. Now is the time to put yourself out there and let your true self shine.

On this day, be bold, daring, and creative. Do something different, try something new, and remember that the light is always within you.

The Dark Night of the Soul- Southern Hemisphere

The shortest day and longest night of the year occur on June 21st. The longer hours of darkness lead us into the dark night of the soul, a period of retreat during which we can go within and hear the subtler stirrings of our being.

Sometimes we can only feel truly comfortable being ourselves in the darkness. When the Sun shines down on us, we may feel exposed; we may feel compelled to act or be in a certain way.

When the lights are turned off and we are alone with our thoughts at midnight, that is when we can truly dive deep into our core and face a new truth about who we are.

It is not necessary for us to be ashamed of ourselves in the bright light of the Sun. Because this is a part of us as well. However, if we stay there for too long, we become disconnected, which is why the Universe sends us the longest night of the year.

This is an opportunity for all of us to enter the darkness at this time. To step away from the spotlight and focus on ourselves and our own truth.

We don’t need to explain this truth to anyone or be able to tie it up nicely. We don’t need to identify or even write down our emotions in order to be analyzed. We simply have to sit with them and let them be.

Our thoughts are meaningless in the dark. Our emotions are the ones that can truly shine. Our emotional voice is given a chance to speak, and we must allow it to be heard.

We must let go of labels and mental judgments and instead allow ourselves to feel with the power of the heart.

What feelings arise when we sit in the dark and simply allow ourselves to be? What causes discomfort? What happens when we simply let ourselves be?

This is what the dark night of the soul invites us to do. This is something we are encouraged to do. We must stop talking and begin listening.

We must find stillness in order to step into a new power and a new truth of who we truly are.

Dark Night of the Soul Ritual

This night, your ritual is to sit in the dark. Allow yourself to sit in a dark room with the lights turned off. Try to sit in the dark with your eyes open and just observe how you feel.

Get comfortable just sitting in your own body. Breathe. Allow any thoughts that arise to pass without engaging with them.

You may only be able to do this for a few minutes, but try to push through any angst or restlessness that arises.

Take a relaxing bath after sitting in the dark. Fill the tub with soothing oils and salts, and simply allow yourself to wash away any unwanted feelings or thoughts.

The dark night of the soul is a time for reflection and rest. Be gentle with yourself, and spend time getting to know yourself outside of the spotlight.
