When you go through a break-up, it can be very intense. All your dreams of a beautiful future are broken and lost. It can make you suffer a lot and it’s really difficult to deal with it.
You feel helpless. You know what the problem is but you don’t really know how to address it. At this stage of life, you would like to get any kind of advice to move on.
Anything that might save you from this stage. Well, you are the only one who can save yourself in this stage. However, there are a few things that you can do to help you move on:
1. Don’t contact your former partner again
Don’t talk to your ex, don’t be friends with them, don’t keep them as the center of your thoughts every day. Your emotions are fresh right now, and you would want to go back to the relationship.
Your mind can’t take the loss – it wants the security of the relationship. Don’t let it win over you. Try to keep your distance – this space is going to be sacred for your future. If you want, you can go back to being friends later on when you have dealt with the problem.
2. Suppressing your emotional side
Your emotions are all coming out and making a mess of your life. It is quite likely that you are trying a suppress your emotional side. Don’t force your emotions down. Cry if you want.
Rant to your friend. Take their support. Let go of your emotional side in a healthy way. However, don’t get too violent or start lashing at others or on yourself. It will just make you more miserable.
3. Accept the break-up
Accept that the relationship is over. Also, accept that it is all right. You can love yourself – you learned a lesson, you grew in the relationship and now, you can take up a whole new side of yourself. Don’t analyze what would have happened.
Rather, take a new perspective and accept that certain things can happen and you can’t really help it. You just have to learn from it and move on to the next chapter of your life. Don’t let sadness cloud your judgment and dampen your learning abilities.
4. Have a lot of fun
Don’t just sit in your room and be sad. Go out with your family and have a lot of fun. Treat yourself. Eat and party. Know that you have the right to be happy.
While at first, things will seem difficult but fake it till you make it. Give out fake smiles and eventually, they will become genuine ones.
5. Meditate
Meditation is one of the best ways you can heal your broken self. It will help you deal with the conflicting emotions, piece things together and re-energize your spiritual side.
You can even engage yourself with tree-hugging, another form of meditation that will make you feel one with nature. Heal yourself.
Don’t let a break-up put you down. Rise above yourself and make the most out of your life. Cheers.
