March is one of the biggest and perhaps most pivotal months of the year.
We may already feel the beginnings of the major cosmic occurrences in March and find ourselves consciously or unconsciously preparing by tying up any loose ends and getting clear on where we stand.
Some of the biggest and most important cosmic events of 2023 will occur in March, including move of Saturn into Pisces and Pluto into Aquarius. It also brings the March Equinox, which heralds the beginning of the astrological New Year.
Mars also leaves its post-retrograde shadow and exits Gemini, bringing an end to a cycle that began in August 2022.
All of the monumental shifts that are taking place in March are just paving the way for a new evolution of our soul journey.
March is a powerhouse month, and with so much going on, we may feel disorganized and frazzled, but we are all being propelled forward in some way. Whatever the month of March brings, it appears that we are all being guided to level up, release what no longer serves us, and make room for the new.
Here are the most important cosmic events taking place in March 2023:
March 1st to 31st: No Major Planetary Retrogrades
Throughout March, none of the major planets will be in any backspins. As such, prepare for some amazing progressive momentum that can be used to break ground on any goals and dreams of yours. This strong progressive momentum can make it feel like the Universe is opening doors that will help us reach our journey’s next stage.
March 7-8: Virgo Full Moon
The Virgo Full Moon occurs at the start of an extremely busy and energetic month, providing us with a dose of whatever medicine is required. It has a healing vibration that directs us to the elixir that will be most beneficial to us right now. This is a time when self-care is essential. The more we can show up for ourselves and take care of our own needs, the better we will be able to move in sync with this Full Moon.
We may also want to clear out the clutter, tidy up our spaces, and make them a better reflection of the person we are becoming. A powerful way to channel this Full Moon energy is to create a safe space that fuels your creativity and productivity. With Saturn moving into Pisces shortly after this Full Moon, we may find ourselves finally wrapping up and releasing those karmic ties and Saturnian lessons.
March 7-8: Saturn in Pisces
Saturn will enter Pisces less than an hour after the rising of the Virgo Full Moon. This is one of the most significant cosmic events of 2023. Saturn has been in Aquarius since December 2020, but it is now entering Pisces, where it will stay until February 14, 2026. Saturn is known as the Lord of Karma, so as it moves through the zodiac, it tends to stir up karmic lessons from which we must learn, mature, and grow. Saturn always leaves a little karmic reward as it prepares to leave one sign of the zodiac for the next, so keep an eye out for this in the days leading up to its move into Pisces!
Saturn’s entry into Pisces will pave the way for a new adventure.
March 10- Jupiter Conjunct Chiron
As Jupiter and Chiron align in Aries, a portal of healing energy is unlocked. This healing energy has a fiery tone, helping us to move forward and leave the past behind. We may have a sudden awakening, or we may finally decide that we no longer want to carry the burdens of the past. We can’t always avoid our pains, but with this energy, we may finally give in to the idea that we must move on by honoring our pain and allowing it to guide us forward into a brighter future. Jupiter’s presence can assist us in focusing on the silver linings and making the best of our circumstances, regardless of the traumas or tragedies that have befallen us.
March 11- Venus Conjunct Eris
Eris is a dwarf planet known as the sister of Mars. She exudes bold, fiery, and courageous energy, aiding in the release of the female spirit’s full potential. Eris, at her core, is a fearless, protective, and radical energy capable of inspiring revolutions. As Eris and Venus come together, we have a strengthening of Goddess energy. We may experience a boost to our feminine expression. We may feel more intuitive and determined to stand up for something. This energy will send waves of support if you want to welcome more feminine energy into your life or if you need help expressing or exploring your femininity.
March 15-16: Triple Conjunction- Sun + Neptune + Mercury
The Sun, Neptune, and Mercury will all align in Pisces, forming a triple conjunction. This brings an increase in Piscean energy, and with that, perhaps some Pisces fog! This powerful Piscean energy may cause some indecision or confusion regarding the best course of action to take. It can also result in the dissolution of boundaries, making us vulnerable to the energies of others. On the other hand, this triple conjunction can be great for spiritual exploration and a creative boost. Going with the flow and allowing our imaginations to wander has its own power.
March 17- Mars in Gemini Leaves Shadow Phase
Finally, the Mars Retrograde energies have passed us by! It’s been a long road, but we’ve been working with the tiny red planet since October to overcome issues with our energy levels, motivation, and fears. We may have had to face some fears or question what we were putting our energy into, but at this point in our journey, we are hopefully all the better off for it.
March 17- Venus in Aries Square Pluto in Capricorn
This is one of Pluto’s final alignments as it nears the end of its decades-long journey through Capricorn. Pluto and Venus will bring up relationship issues, possibly highlighting power struggles. Pluto and Venus were also very active at the beginning of 2023, so if you noticed issues in your relationships brewing at that time, this alignment may bring some closure or perhaps a deepening of the story. Whenever Pluto’s energy is present, it always calling us to dig deeper and examine our subconscious behaviors.
March 20- Equinox + Sun in Aries + Start of Astrological New Year!

The astrological New Year begins as the Sun enters Aries. This is an excellent time for new beginnings and fresh starts. If you haven’t yet made your New Year’s resolutions, this energy is a great time to start! Today also brings the Equinox, a time when we celebrate balance and harmony. It also marks the beginning of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. This change in seasons for Mother Earth is something we can sense in our own being. We may find ourselves naturally balancing and aligning where we need to shed and where we need to bloom.
March 21- Aries New Moon
A New Moon occurs shortly after the Equinox and the beginning of the astrological New Year, amplifying its energy! This is a potent New Moon for fresh starts and manifestation work. Use this magical energy to call in what you desire and wish to create for yourself moving forward. The energies are highly magnetic, so keep an open mind! This New Moon continues a trend of New Moons peaking at 1 degree of their respective zodiac sign. This is the last New Moon to fall at 1 degree, so any new beginnings that have been planned are likely to materialize now. This is also one of two New Moons in Aries. The next New Moon in April will be a Solar Eclipse in Aries.
March 23- Pluto in Aquarius
One of the year’s most significant cosmic events! Pluto will only be in Aquarius for a few months, but this marks the beginning of a new cycle that we will be working with for the next two decades! Pluto, which is about to enter Aquarius, is finishing up its lessons and journey in Capricorn, where it has been since 2008. Pluto’s energy is like a phoenix rising from the ashes, and as it transited Capricorn, it would have been assisting us in transforming from the inside out in areas relating to our boundaries, feelings of stability and security, finances, and whom and what we choose to give our power to. As Pluto enters Aquarius, the rebirth energy shifts to our community, independence, and all things technological.
March 25- Mars in Cancer
Mars finally moves out of Gemini where it has been since August 2022. Mars has been in Gemini for a very, very long time, so we’ve been really feeling the Mars-Gemini lessons. We are finished with these lessons and ready to move on now that Mars has entered Cancer! Consider how your life has changed since August in terms of your motivation, energy levels, and approach to your fears.
March 30- Venus Conjunct Uranus in Taurus
We finish the month with Venus and Uranus colliding in Taurus. This is the hallmark of radical love! How can you channel this energy into radical self-love? Take care of yourself, nurture yourself, and keep your heart open to the possibilities. Under this sign, love can be found in the most unexpected and surprising places, so keep an open mind.
