In this fast-paced, harsh and rather unforgiving world, people are becoming stress to the point of developing anxiety disorders. Millions in America alone have been diagnosed with this problem.

For some it goes so far as to become a Chronic Anxiety Disorder wherein their daily lives have been affected due to worry for more than six months.

It might seem very difficult to treat anxiety but what we don’t know is that there are some very simple things you can do to reduce the effect it has on you.

Anxiety disorders can cause a person’s whole life to deteriorate. Some of the symptoms include dizzy spells, body aches, indigestion and a numb or tingly feeling in different parts of the body.

The hallmarks of anxiety are tension and extreme trepidation to the point that the person is too apprehensive to carry out even very important tasks.

This can drastically affect a person’s work and social life as well as their relationship with their family. They’ll find themselves falling apart, unable to do even simple things, completely controlled by fear.

There are of course medicines that can be prescribed to alleviate the symptoms of the disorder but none of them are effective in the long run.

Some of these medicines also contain harmful ingredients that cause severe side effects like memory loss, fatigue, fluctuations in weight, and diarrhea.

This is leaving aside the fact that the pharmaceutical industry is also geared towards making profit and hence the medicines can be very expensive.

Neuroscientists at Mindlab International, UK, have conducted a study that yielded a fascinating result.

They called in volunteers to figure out which music soothed them the most by making them solve puzzles while connected to a sensor that monitored aspects like heart rate and blood pressure.

The scientists discovered that listening to Weightless by the Marconi Union could decrease anxiety by 65%! The song was created in collaboration with sound therapists to make it more relaxing.
