While talking about the Holy Scriptures, or the Bible, there are some holy men who keep watch over us. They are defined differently in different scriptures. However, the Book of Daniel mentions them three times in total.
“I saw in the visions of my head as I lay in bed, and behold, a watcher, a holy one, came down from heaven” (Daniel 4:13).
The watchers have been regarded as holy angels, celestial beings, or God’s messengers. Nebuchadnezzar, being mad, will eat grass and behave like a beastly creature.
“This sentence is by the decree of the angelic watchers.” (Daniel 4:17) describes the watchers as heavenly, and Daniel knows about their whereabouts.
“And because the king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven…” (Daniel 4:23) mentions a single divine watcher from the holy aspect who communicates with the king and delivers holy orders.
The watchers, therefore, are holy beings having descended from the celestial planet, i.e., from heaven to earth.
They are very purposeful and determined to transport their messages or signals from God to the mortal beings on planet Earth. They also deliver important messages to the king.
The Book of Enoch, however, describes these watchers as a group of angels sent to protect the divine creations of God on planet Earth.
The book narrates their story when ten watchers rebelled together by marrying the ‘daughters of men’, thus forging ahead against God’s great desires and wishes.
It also describes the birth of Nephilim, who are behemoths, half watchers, and half angels. Azael was one of the fallen angels. Facts state that these celestial beings can also turn aggressive and into colossal monsters, having rebellious character traits.
Though it is highly believed that the good angels have returned to heaven, deserting us with the evil ones. But there is still no evidence to support these rumors.
