Many people have fallen for someone that they couldn’t have; someone unavailable.
To love a person that you are not able to have is probably the most difficult and painful thing one can experience. It will take from you almost everything and leave you with nothing.
At a point, you probably loved someone whole-heartedly, but that was simply not enough for him or her. Maybe until now, that person did not have the ability to show you all those emotions you once showed him or her.
Because of that, your relationship became on and off situation for you. At the beginning it has been good, but after that, it turned bad, and with time, it turned even worse. When you think about it now, you realize that you wasted all those years in vain for something worthless.
However, during that period, the person was your whole world and life. You realize that he or she never honestly let you in, and you were always standing there in the cold.
“Because, if you could love someone, and keep loving them, without being loved back…then that love had to be real. It hurt too much to be anything else.” – Sarah Cross, Kill Me Softly
Although you want to think that he or she had some feelings for you at some point, you just cannot. All those things you went through are the evidence saying that it hasn’t been the case.
Such things make you feel strange, even many years later. When you meet each other on some events, you act like you don’t see or even know each other.
However, if you feel that sunken feeling in your stomach every time you see him or her, it means you do not love them anymore, or you don’t want to be with him or her anymore, but you will still have some strange feelings. That feeling often comes from the closure or the anger which you never expressed.
Loving a person you are not able to have can really leave you empty, so you will find it difficult to keep going. When you need to say goodbye to a person but you don’t have the opportunity to do it, it will change you.
Perhaps, you will refuse to admit it, but it means that you are still thinking of that someone, no matter if it is rarely or every day.
When it comes to this, life can be silly, and it brings you to people that will only tear you apart. Maybe you met at the wrong time. Maybe it wasn’t meant to be in this one, but you will be together in your next life.
“There comes a time in your life when you have to choose to turn the page, write another book or simply close it.” – Shannon L. Alder
We hope that you feel better now that you know that you are not the only one that experienced that.
