The holiday season has officially begun, and Sagittarius season is quickly approaching.

As we approach the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, Sagittarius arrives to remind us of the importance of adventure, embracing the unknown, and breaking down glass ceilings.

Here are the major astrological events taking place this Sag season, so you can make the most of it.

Sagittarius season encourages us to spread our wings

This year, Sagittarius season begins on November 22 and lasts until December 21, when Capricorn season begins. For the next four weeks, the Archer’s energy will be abundant, inspiring us all to embrace our more spontaneous, adventurous sides.

Sagittarius is a sign that prefers to ask for forgiveness rather than permission. We may all feel a little hotter than usual, especially since passionate Mars is conjunct the sun in Sagittarius for the majority of the season. (But more on that later!)

The Gemini full moon opens up the floodgates of communication

A full moon in Gemini occurs on November 27, completing a six-month cycle that began with the Gemini new moon in June. Given that Gemini is a mutable air sign, this could be a curious and flirtatious new moon that invites us to communicate and activate our throat chakras.

The full moon in November is also known as the “Beaver Moon,” and it’s an excellent time to reconnect with your senses and ground yourself in nature.

All season long, Mars amps up the Sagittarius energy

As previously stated, Mars will be conjunct the Sun in Sagittarius for the majority of this season, which is good news for our drive and motivation in the midst of all the holiday hustle and bustle!

This surge of optimism and can-do energy spreads throughout your life. From bucket-list travel plans to an idea for an independent business venture, you’ll find yourself with enough fuel to go for it—even though it’s technically the holiday season.

Venus enters Scorpio, emphasizing discernment in relationships

When the planet of love and pleasure changes signs, it has a significant impact on our relationships as well as how we give and receive love. On December 4, Venus will transition from amorous Libra to sexy and seductive Scorpio.

If Venus in Libra has us all cooing through rose-colored glasses, Scorpio, with its discerning and scrutinous nature, is happy to smack those glasses right off. But only because Scorpio needs to double-check everything before letting down their walls! When Scorpio does trust, the intimacy and spiritual depth it can achieve with another is unparalleled.

To put it another way? You may be scrutinizing your relationships more closely, but those that pass the test can be greatly strengthened right now.

Later this season, Mercury will go retrograde in Capricorn

Finally, if you thought this year’s Mercury retrogrades were enough, think again! Mercury enters Capricorn retrograde on December 12 and will remain there until New Year’s Day. (Yikes.)

Sure, we’re not ending the year with the clearest of mental signals, but Mercury retrogrades are also a good time to reflect. To that end, one more Mercury retrograde before the end of the year may be just what we need to reassess our New Year’s resolutions and reflect on the previous year.

Final words

Sagittarius season is all about following your own lead, expanding your horizons, and finding the luck in every situation, whether you try a new class, take a mini-vacation, or simply embrace more spontaneity. With Mars on board, the sky is truly the limit for what we can accomplish before the end of the year.
