Trying to do things right is actually a great thing. You want to make sure that you have taken care of your health, work, family obligations, and friends. But caring too much about everything to be good or ‘perfect’ can actually be a bad thing.

It is wise to understand that life is imperfect. Things can go wrong even if you’ve planned everything your best. There are a lot of factors that you can’t control or change. These simple facts are understood by every perfectionist but they become very hard to implement. Here are some simple living tips that can help you live peacefully.

Perfect doesn’t Exist

Your definition of perfect doesn’t necessarily everybody’s definition. You might stress yourself trying to finish your homework or professional research in the best quality, only to end up wasting your time and efforts.

A good idea is to accept that you’ve done something good. When it is good enough, you can let it go, relax or move on to something else. We are all different and our differences make us special and unique.

We learn from mistakes so if you end up making one, take it easy. This means that you know exactly what you need to avoid next time.

Timing is Important

A perfect job won’t matter much if you can’t have it finished on time. If you are paying too much attention to the details, you might be missing the deadline. You need to find your own balance of acceptable quality and timely delivery when you have to finish a task or assignment.

A lot of perfectionists can’t let go of the task they have if it doesn’t meet their standard of perfect. If you don’t feel like you can finish work in the desired quality, you can always hire a professional. My trained plumber will take care of the leak in the bathroom and detect any problems that I might overlook.

By the same token, my writer who provides me with thesis writing help will have enough experience to finish my thesis or any other paper in the best quality. These professionals know what they are doing and they do things better and faster than you. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

The key to enjoying life and simple living is to love and accept yourself. A lot of perfectionists experience self-loathing because they feel that they are not able to move on with their lives the way other people do.

First, you should stop comparing yourself to other people. People are different and they walk different paths of lives. If you are not doing something right now, this doesn’t mean that you can’t do it tomorrow. You can learn new skills and take better decisions in the future. Every day is a chance to grow and learn.

The next thing that you need to understand is that some of the standards that you set for yourself are not real. The perfect body that you’ve spent years trying to achieve is probably something you’ve seen in a photoshopped picture. You need to value yourself and understand that you are good enough with your own imperfections.

Find the Positive Side of Perfectionism

Being a perfectionist is not entirely a bad thing. You need to take a step back and see the positive side of it. You can also make plans that will allow you to reach the perfect result that you wish for.

For example, you can set more realistic and realizable goals. By setting mini-deadlines before the main deadline, you will be able to feel the sense of achievement so you can move on with your task.

This way you will be able to feel that you are beating that negative side of perfectionism that stresses you out and ruins your mood. It actually pushes you to procrastinate if you are not meeting your own definition of perfect.

Be your Own Best Fan

A lot of perfectionists suffer because they are constantly comparing themselves. They are either comparing themselves to other people or to an imaginary standard. The only person you should be comparing yourself to is you. You can enjoy living simply if you give yourself a pat on the shoulder whether things go right or wrong.

Always take it easy and tell yourself that you are doing a great job. Encourage yourself if you can see an improvement. Keep a record of what you do so you can identify the change in your pattern. Appreciate yourself and see what you’ve done.

You’ve probably accomplished something that nobody else could do. Always take a look and remind yourself that you’ve overcome a lot of difficulties. You are improving and becoming a better person.
