The Chinese New Year is about to start on the 12th of February, 2021. This day is also a New Moon that ushers the Year of the Ox.
A New Year also brings images of fireworks, celebration, hugs, gifts, and a change in the calendar. The West observes its New Year immediately as our Earth completes one whole circle around the Sun. This also changes our relationship with other planetary bodies and stars.
However, not every calendar follows the Sun’s movement. Some are Lunar calendars like the Chinese calendar which measures time according to the Earth’s relationship with the Sun and the Moon. Consequently, the Chinese New Year is different from the Western New Year.
The Chinese celebrate their New Year by exchanging red envelopes that contain some money depending upon the challenges faced by the person throughout the preceding year. Older Chinese people offer red envelopes to single people or children.
Chinese Horoscope Animals
A significant aspect of their New Year is the twelve animals that represent each cycle during their coincidence with Buddha. Chinese horoscopes believe that every person and the 12 animals including pig, dog, rooster, monkey, goat, horse, snake, dragon, rabbit, tiger, ox, and rat, are controlled by the zodiac signs.
The Metal Ox is the animal of the 2021 Chinese New Year with a polarity of Yin. They consider that each sign connects the human soul with their ruling animal and have an influence on their spiritual experience throughout the year.
2021 will be governed by Ox, beginning from 3rd February. The Ox is also referred to as Buffalo. Additionally, the Ox signifies characteristics like determination, courage, hard work, and honesty through yellow, green, and white colors.
