Get ready for an awesome light show later this month. As we move into July, we will witness several shooting stars.

Don’t be surprised if you notice more than 10 shooting stars per hour. It just means that Delta Aquariids and Alpha Caprocornids are peaking.

While the two meteor showers are relatively smaller, together, they can be quite powerful. Go out during the night and observe the sky, you will be able to see many shooting stars.

As July 2020 matures, the shooting stars will occur even more frequently. 28th July and 30th July are the official dates for Delta Aquariids and Alpha Caprocornids to peak.

The 31st July New Moon Will Provide A Perfect Background For The Double Meteor0

31st July New Moon (1st August for some based on where you live) will bring forth a perfect background for the double meteor.

Pick a nice and dark spot to camp out, and you will witness the sky shine up. You don’t have to wait till 28th or 30th July. Just as July comes to an end, the night sky will feature so many shooting stars that you will lose count.

Even as the moon waxes, you can enjoy a nice night-out star gazing. The best time to do this is the short period between midnight and dawn.

Since the New Moon will occur on 31st July, most of the nights in the coming weeks will be dark. And darkness means a better view of shooting stars!

While the Delta Aquariids is not the biggest meteor shower, it is still very powerful. The beautiful display can feature about 20 shooting stars in an hour.

That said, depending on the clarity of your skies, you will be able to witness a few less or more.

Meanwhile, the Alpha Caprocornids features a lesser number of shooting stars. Even then, the two combined are expected to be spectacular.

It can hold around 5 shooting stars per hour. But the number can increase or decrease based on the amount of debris the meteor unleashes.

Get ready for this Cosmic spectacle. If you are lucky, you can witness over 100 shooting stars in late July!
